Any All My Children fans here? I recently co-hosted a yard sale and one of my friends brought "The All My Children Board Game" (yes, you read that correctly) from 1985-ish, and it didn't sell. (ha!) Anyone want it? I'll send it to you as a prezzie! :-)

No shame in loving soaps!

I just finished watching the 11/5/07 episode. I've watched 21 eps since yesterday afternoon and my brain is mush. I can't seem to stop watching them, yet I'm so annoyed by much of what I'm seeing. So much for the "glee" part. Phillip is an ass, Shawn is a whiny baby, and Belle is equally horrible and deserves them both. I hate Hope's haircut. I am bothered by the fact that Kayla and Steve still live in a hotel and yet Kayla somehow has a box of Stephanie's old baby clothes to give Hope for Sierra - has she ever really done anything with her house full of stuff in CA or wherever she'd been living prior to Steve's return? I'm glad to have been away from the sorority house for a bit, at least. And yes, Marlena, EJ needs some killing. Sami - listen to your family - they are smart - at least about the DiMeras. It's been fun whizzing past all the Halloween commercials, and now we're in NBC's green week. I can't wait to relive all the Xmas commercials. Well, back to it. I'm looking forward to seeing what Serial Drama has to say about all of this.

ETA: I decided to catch up on SD before diving back in - that site makes me laugh so hard my sides hurt! I love how they harp on everyone's hair.

EATA: OK - here's some glee - I'm totally loving the wedding and aftermath!!! The ep from 11/9 has been awesome! It's getting late, but I think I have to dive in to another week.

I'm catching up on my backlog of DOOL eps - so far today I've watched the ones from 10/8-10/11/07. For some reason, my TiVo didn't record the 10/12/07 ep, so I read the recap online - OF COURSE, that had to be the episode where Andre pulled his own plug and John got hit by the car. Well, at least I won't miss out on the week of John vigil and death. Last week's Soap Opera Digest cover said that John is alive. I bought it, but I haven't read the article yet, since I hadn't seen him die. Well, off to dive in to the next week of eps.

If you're a fan (or maybe "former fan" is more accurate) of General Hospital, you really should read Serial Drama's version of A Christmas Carol.

Oh Georgie. :(

All My Children brings back three favorites [Dec. 15th, 2007|06:39 pm]
No shame in loving soaps!

[mood |contentcontent]

All My Children is bringing back three fan favorites as the ship keeps sinking show tries to woo back viewers.

Debbie Morgan and Darnell Williams will be back. Morgan will be playing Angie Baxter-Hubbard. Williams will, supposedly, be playing Jesse Hubbard, Angie's first husband. This will be interesting since Jesse not only has been dead for nearly twenty years but he's been back as an angel guiding Tad Martin through hard times and bringing Gillian Andrassy to heaven. Angie married a Jesse look-a-like named Jake (and who was played by Darnell Williams) when her character was moved to Loving/The City. ABC is promoting that Angie and Jesse are back so I guess Jesse was only mostly dead in Pine Valley.

The big news this week was that Sabine Singh has been let go after six months of butchering playing Greenlee and Rebecca Budig, the original Greenlee, is returning. I think Sabine Singh has been awful from day one as Greenlee and I'm not sorry to see her leave but does ABC Daytime have to put up a graphic on their website that reads "The Real Greenlee Is Back on AMC"? So what, the last six months we were watching the faux Greenlee? Can I get my money back for being so cruelly deceived? And could that be meaner to poor Sabine Singh, who stunk but was obviously trying her best. Mallory at Serial Drama is as mortified as I am and she's probably the only person more down on the show than I am (and a rant on that is coming. After making a small rally this summer, AMC is just awful now).

Morgan, Williams and Budig all return January 16th. The good parts of the show, however, have been gone for a very long time.

One Life to Live ... in lockup [Oct. 22nd, 2007|01:23 pm]

[mood |goodgood]

One Life to Live star Nathaniel Marston had a bad night Saturday/early Sunday.

Really bad.

Marston attacked three people in Hell's Kitchen and got into a fist-fight with some NYPD officers - always a big, big mistake. Marston was believed to be under the influence, which doesn't bode well for his OLTL future. Several high profile ABC soap stars were dropped from their programs after public drug problems.

Marston got into a fight with a cab driver on 10th Avenue and 45th Street. A local was getting coffee when Marston turned his anger toward the guy. Marston hit the fellow with a metal crate and then went after several other by-standers, breaking the leg of a man trying to get into a cab according to one report.

When the police arrived, Marston started fighting with them. That didn't last long.

Marcy would be so disappointed if she wasn't on the run with Tommy/Todd's son.

No word from the program so far.

Okay, I'm just going to mention that even the Fug Girls are mourning the loss of The Eyebrow:

And how can they kill off John Black on Days Of Our Lives while he's wrapped in head bandages, thus giving us no time to say a proper goodbye to Drake Hogestyn's Irresistably Incredibly Incomprehensibly Amazing Eyebrow of Shock/Terror/Amusement/Boredom/Vengefulness/Arousal?

RIP, Eyebrow. Until they dig you up again!
